The Richardson Ranch has been producing beef on the Queen Charlotte Islands since 1919. The Tlell Polled Hereford herd was founded in 1981 and has evolved into one of British Columbia’s most prominent Polled Hereford herds.

We have sold Registered Hereford bulls at the Vanderhoof Bull Sale for 25 consecutive years, at the William’s Lake Bull Sale for 10 years and were founding partners in the Yellowhead Select Female Sale held in Prince George from 1996 to 2005.

This is a family operation currently involving three generations with the registered cattle as well as the Queen Charlotte Islands Animal Hospital and Ranch Feeds, the islands only Feed and Pet Store.

Recent Highlights include

• Grand Champion Hereford Female, Bull Calf Champion and 4 Class Winners at the 2010 Western National Hereford Show held at Farmfair International in Edmonton. Also won the Ranchers Choice Bull at the Hereford Genes Event with some 500 ballots cast

• Grand and Reserve Bull calf Champions, Winning Get of Sire, and high selling Hereford Yearlings at the 2011 Williams Lake Bull Show and Sale, April 2011. Two high selling Hereford bulls at 2011 Vanderhoof Bull Sale

• Grand & Reserve Champion Female banners, Reserve Grand Champion Bull, Premier Breeder, Premier Exhibitor and winning Breeders Herd at the 92nd Annual Bulkley Valley Exhibition Hereford Mark of Excellence Show on August 27, 2011 at Smithers , BC. Tlell 42S Super Dude 20W was Grand Champion Hereford and Supreme Champion Bull for Copper-T Ranch who purchased 20W in our first online sale.
